What’s your entrepreneurial PASSION?

How you’ll know + how to find it.

Do what you love, love what you do.

We’re all somewhat familiar with this infamous quote.

This sentence tells us that we should make our careers into something we love doing, so we don’t have to work a day in our lives — something like that, right?

Maybe you have the desire (to start your own entrepreneurial journey).

You can see yourself being the entrepreneur you were always destined to be, but there’s just one minor problem.

You don’t know what your passion is.

Or, rather, you’ve forgotten it along the way.

As we grow — we learn. In fact, we’re constantly learning. We become more attuned to our interests and our dislikes. We spend more time striving for the things we love and avoiding the things we dislike.

Sometimes we have to make decisions and compromises when life gets tough and we have to make ends meet.

Or sometimes, the passion you grew up with fades into the background as you mature and age.

Your passion is within you. It’s somewhere hidden deep. You just have to dig to find it.

You want to create something. It’s possible. You just have to find the passion to ignite the fire inside.

So, how do you find your entrepreneurial passion? And what do you do when you discover it?

Travel Back in Time

I mean this metaphorically, of course.

Try as best as you can to picture your childhood and the things that made you the happiest.

Was it drawing? Was it watching movies? Was it being around your loved ones? Was it swimming? Was it sports?

Whatever it was, try and remember it and write it down. Then, ask yourself, how could my childhood passion — something I loved so much — be turned into an entrepreneurial passion?

For example, if you loved to be outside and play sports all day in the summer – you might be able to find a career in physical fitness. Especially if that passion has carried into your life today. Avidly visit the gym every single day? Maybe this is a sign. An indicator that, since you’ve loved physical activity your whole life, this is probably something you’re really good at. Maybe your next path is to become a fitness trainer.

Although this is just an example, it’s a great way to get the gears in your mind to start turning at the possibilities of your passion and what you can make for yourself. Revisiting your inner child and the past may help your vision turn clear as to what you love.

Write It Down

This is a great way to gather your thoughts.

If you’re having trouble figuring out what your passion is, get out a piece of paper and pen. Write down everything you love and everything you’re really good at. I mean everything — even if it feels silly.

You never know what thoughts might sprout. An idea may pop into your head and it could be the catalyst for your entrepreneurial journey.

Dig deep and write it down.

Ask Yourself Questions

Have a conversation with yourself.

It’s time to dig deep and ask yourself questions like these to get the brain working:

  • What am I really, really good at?
  • What do I love to do?
  • What do other people tell me I’m good at?
  • What makes me feel whole?
  • What do I want out of life?
  • What do I want out of a career?

Questions like these are a great way to start building up your entrepreneurial goals and mindset.

It’s always important to have a clear vision and clear goals of what you want out of your life before you jump in. This way, you have a clear, direct path on how to get where you want to be. The little goals you accomplish on the way will be stepping stones to success.

Ask yourself the necessary questions, write them down, and dig deep. Once you do all of these things, your passion will come to you clearly. Then you can begin.
