“There is no force more powerful than a woman determined to rise.”
In 1940, it was declared that single caucasian women were allowed to work, followed by married caucasian women later on. And it wasn’t until the Civil Rights Act of 1964 that African American women were allowed to work.
It took a lot of fight, especially for minorities, but women have risen like wildfire in the workplace. Today — There are around 12.3 Million Female Entrepreneurs in the United States alone.
Let’s take a look at a couple of female entrepreneurs that I follow, because, well, they are pretty amazing!
Joanna Gaines
HGTV — You love it, or know someone who loves it. And what is HGTV without mention of Chip and Joanna Gaines?
Joanna was the original inspiration behind the famous Magnolia store. And it was Joanna’s blog about her designs that captured the attention of the home improvement network. With a combination of her and Chip’s expertise, they became a household name.
On top of the show, Joanna earned her title as an inspiring entrepreneur as the co-owner and co-founder of Magnolia, a New York Times bestselling author, and Editor in Chief of Magnolia Journal.
The best part? Joanna and Chip raise their 5 children on a 40-acre farm, eating organic food from their back yard and focusing on good fundamental values.
Joanna is certainly a pretty inspiring woman!
