Hidden Toxins

Wendie has an incredibly complex story of health issues starting from childhood on. She has had a range of gut issues, food sensitivities, and other medical complications. This led her to switching her path in the medical field to focus on functional medicine. It wasn’t until she hit her forties that she started presenting with other issues. She did a toxicity test and figured out that she had high levels of external toxins in her body. This is when she decided to write her book to get the message out to others about these potential hidden issues.

Foundational Food

Food is foundational to wellness, but you shouldn’t expect to be on point with it 100% of the time. Do your best with the foods you consume around 80 to 90% of the time. Wherever you are now, take steps to level up and improve over time. Eat broad varieties of minimally processed, whole foods. Minimize the foods that aren’t in their natural form. Eat locally, organically, and with the seasons. Keep in mind that when you go on excursions, it might be hard to get back on track, so go about a plan that works best for you.

Gut Driven Health

The power is in your own hands. You can eat anything that you want, but consider how you would feel if you do. It’s up to you to decide your level of comfort, what your goals are, and how you want to approach your meal plan. Understand that everything derives from the gut. Your body should be invisible, as in, if you start having aches, pains, or other ailments, something is off in your gut. This is when you should consider switching things up and looking at your exposure to toxins. Toxins can disrupt your hormones, which can cause imbalances and health issues.

Plan it Out

It can be hard to commit to switching things up to improve your toxin levels, but it is possible. Do whatever you can to filter your water, air, food, and other external pieces in your life. When you get to a point where you have done everything that you can, that’s when you can seek out professional assistance and get tested as well. If you commit to detox plans, make sure that you do ones that will help you over the long haul, not just the quick ones meant to give you a reset. Consider all of the things around you, what your body is taking in, and how you can improve your surroundings.
