Melissa McAllister: Why Commitments To Yourself Matter [EP 39]

In this episode, Melissa talks about commitments and holding yourself accountable when it comes to your goals. She goes on to list her commitments and why they are important to her. She also talks about how to keep true to your commitments.

Group Accountability

Melissa talks about how people generally don’t like to let others down. She mentions that we strive to meet goals when others are involved, especially in a competitive setting. The only issue is that people don’t have a personal commitment to it. The best thing you can do when looking at goals is to make a commitment that is for you and you alone.

Green Tea

The first commitment Melissa speaks about is drinking her Pique Green Tea every day. She talks about the wonderful benefits of the tea and how she now looks forward to the time of day she gets to drink it. She speaks about finding a good quality tea and not just going for name brand items.


Melissa was inspired by a friend of her daughter to start walking more. Walking is a wonderful way to stay fit and active. It’s an easy activity that can be done at any time of day and is good for whole body health. 

Red Light Panels 

The third commitment that Melissa has dedicated to herself is red light therapy panels. She talks about how good they are for the skin and on a whole body cellular level. She encourages people to look into the benefits of this option.  

Three Tips  

The first tip is not to make too many commitments. Keep it to one or two really important things and concentrate on making those changes. The second tip is when making a commitment, act like you are making it for the most important person in your life. The third tip is to not make commitments impulsively. Think them through.  

Stick To It

Melissa ends by talking about how to keep things in practice and work hard at making sure you are sticking to what you have committed to yourself. Take time to think about what you want to commit to and find the support you need to help you along the way.
